William Zachariah Russ II. For President

William Z. Russ II is a dedicated family man, caregiver, community leader, and proud son of Sinoe County, Liberia. Born on November 29, he has built a life grounded in service, hard work, faith, and community. Since moving to Charlotte in 1986, he has remained deeply connected to the Liberian community for nearly four decades, building strong relationships and supporting people across generations. He is a devoted husband to Marion Russ, a proud father to Marcia, William, Marleen, and Tiana, and a loving grandfather to Emile and Ermais.

As a self-employed businessman and active member of the United Methodist Church, William believes in responsibility, unity, and bringing people together for a greater purpose.

William is running for President of LIBAC because he believes the community deserves leadership that listens, unites, serves, and delivers results. Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping others, supporting families, and standing up for the needs of the community. His background in leadership, caregiving, community service, and volunteer involvement has prepared him to lead with compassion, fairness, and integrity. He is not running for recognition. He is running to serve. His vision is to help build a stronger, more connected LIBAC where every voice matters, trust is restored, and future generations can thrive.
