Before You Vote, Read What 17 Years of Leadership Looks Like

Throughout my professional career at Novant Health, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, cultural awareness, and community engagement. For 17 consecutive years, I successfully led and coordinated the organization's International Day Luncheon, an event that celebrated the rich cultural backgrounds of employees through music, dance, food, and educational activities. This annual event brought together hundreds of employees from different nationalities and backgrounds, fostering understanding, respect, and collaboration across the organization. Leading such a long-standing initiative required exceptional organizational skills, strategic planning, team coordination, budgeting, communication, and the ability to unite people around a common purpose.

These experiences directly translate into the type of leadership and service that can benefit the Liberian Community Association of Greater Charlotte (LIBAC). Our community is made up of individuals from diverse counties, tribes, generations, professions, and life experiences. Building unity requires leaders who understand how to bring people together, create inclusive environments, and ensure that every voice feels valued and respected. My experience organizing multicultural programs, coordinating volunteers, managing events, and fostering engagement equips me to help strengthen relationships within our community while promoting a culture of respect, collaboration, and shared purpose.

If given the opportunity to serve, I will work toward achieving measurable goals that create a lasting impact for LIBAC and its members. These goals include increasing member participation in community events by at least 25%, expanding youth, family, and senior engagement programs, establishing annual cultural, educational, and community service initiatives that celebrate and preserve our Liberian heritage, and creating more opportunities for collaboration among members, local businesses, and community organizations.

Drawing on nearly two decades of leadership, event planning, nonprofit management, and community-building experience, I am committed to fostering a culture of Tone, Unity, Service, and Impact (TUSI). My vision is to help build a stronger, more inclusive, and forward-thinking LIBAC that empowers its members, invests in future generations, and serves as a positive force within the Greater Charlotte community.

Together, we can honor our roots, strengthen our connections, and create opportunities that leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
